Few days back I went to a friend`s home. There I met a person who was very casual about life. He was working in IT sector since last 5 years. During the course of conversation we discussed about life insurance, SIP(Systematic Investment Plan) like PF, RD etc. He said that he wants to buy a bike which will cost him around 1.5 lac. Upon asking how much he has saved till now he said that in last 5 years he has saved around 50 K. I was surprised that how can he afford such a costly bike then he said
"Credit card hai naa.... "
This is the truth about our present generation. Inspired by western influence young generation is drifting from the concept of save then spent, to spent and think about it later. This is opposite of our traditional Indian values. In India people were ashamed to borrow money from anyone, but now due to introduction of credit cards and easy granting of loans, now people are buying things like anything.
I personally think this type of mentality will lead India into the clutches of foreign banks. The real joy and happiness is when you plan to buy something, think about it, save money for it and there will be no limit of your happiness when you will buy that thing of your own without asking from help from friends or credit card.
